You’ll never become a good cook if you’re spending lots of time reading cook books instead of spending time in the kitchen. Let’s apply this to writing. It means spending more time writing than you do on the internet. It means actually writing and rewriting and rewriting and likely some more rewriting. Most writers never do this. It’s easy to just write. But you must edit and rewrite too. Great writers take pride in the craft. They want each piece to be as great as possible because they have fallen in love with the practice of writing.
