I’m Such an Idiot. IT’s a Wonder I’m Married at All.
They threw us out of the homeless shelter by 6:00 A.M. I would sleep in my pickup truck a few hours, then I would take my backpack with my MacBook to the library.
Olivia and I would talk throughout the day. We would take breaks when she had to tend to her mom. We grew closer as time went on. The only thing that caused problem was my frequent lapses of Idiocy.
I was texting her on my phone, when I made an offhand comment about the nice-looking women in Minneapolis. There was a pause, then Olivia answered that she didn’t want to talk to me anymore.
I almost had a heart attack, right there in the library. My chest tightened, and I was having trouble breathing. I frantically texted back, begging her to forgive me. Groveling right there in the library.
After a few more minutes of me abasing myself. Olivia accepted my apology, and told me to “Forget about it.” I took a breath, then we talked some more, like it never happened.
I spent my Birthday and Thanksgiving on the street, then I got sick. I finally went to the shelter Medical office. I had an upper respiratory infection. The PA or nurse drove me to the Hospital, where I was diagnosed and given a prescription for Antibiotics.
