The packed high school auditorium was full of teenagers in caps and gowns. They had filed in and sat on folding chairs on the Gym floor. The Graduates’ friends and families sat in the bleachers.

Flashes from cellphones and digital cameras lit up the building. It went off without a hitch. Hours later, the streets were full of graduates, all looking for a party.

Graduated, but no judgment at all

In a two-story house. In a subdivision of houses that looked identical. Tina was in the bathroom getting ready.

“ It’s my lucky night,” Tina thought. She took a last look in the bathroom mirror before she headed downstairs to say goodnight to her parents.

“ Call us if you need anything,” her mom said. “ I wish you would come with us, your grandmother misses you.” Tina resisted the impulse to roll her eyes.

Lies will find you not, Deception is never the right thing

“ I’ll be fine., I’m going to watch TV and surf the web, it’s not a big deal.” Tina smiled on the inside, she held it together and smiled as her mom and dad hugged her and told her…
